kankle or grankle?.. that is the question

a few posts ago i showed you my disasterous bunny prototype 'kankle'. i mentioned that he looked a bit like my dear old dad boris, and this sparked an interest in what my dad looks like. well i managed to snap a few photos of him today to see if you agree. here is kankle and here is grankle, same skinny legs and broad torso... even his hair reminds me of the ears on my bunny.

so what do you think? should i make some more kankles??? do you see any similarities? on other exciting news... my etsy shop is empty thanks to the sale of my first bird to my good friend miranda. she is new to the blogging world but you can find her gorgeous little blog justM here thanks mirr you make me feel like my dream can become a reality.

when i get the time i will update my shop with some more birds, hearts and easter decorations.

introducing 'kankle', possibly the ugliest bunny you ever did see!!

you know when you start making a prototype and your head fills with all these great imaginations of the most gorgeous and unique softie ever... then you show it to your husband who is sitting on the couch and he goes 'errrr that sorta looks like your dad'!!! after you dry your tears from crying and laughing at the same, you have to give in and admit defeat. now i dont think that my dad is ugly at all, on the contrary he is quite a handsome old fella even if he is sporting the hair do similar to a cockatoo at the moment...but his body is similar to this little bunny. dad has skinny legs which lead up to a heavier top half just like kankle.

where does the name kankle come from? i hear you ask... well two lovely ladies out there, kris from tag along teddies and linda from kiss noises or lilly cottage (same person one blog is home other is work) once told me never to point out the bad things in my stitching or craft because that is all that people will look at. the story that went along with this was, for a long time a man admired this young lady in his office, after many weeks he worked up the courage to tell her that she was so pretty she could be a model. her response was 'oh no i have fat ankles (kankles)' from that day forward he no longer looked at her beauty but just at her kankles.

this little bunny is one big kankle from top to bottom!! but to be honest the girls just adore him/her....shim. so it is back to the drawing board and i am one step closer to using my machine as hand sewing that was time consuming!

do you see what i see?

sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you about the birthmark mystery. thank you for playing along with me!! your guesses were so wonderful but because all i can see is what i think, it is hard to make my brain change my point of view (do you understand me?) it is like when i look at the moon i see a rabbit and when i asked my husband he said yes there it is ready to jump... huh what? no way, all i see is the head of the rabbit like a cartoon version. anyhow my point is that we all see things differently but the guess that i can most see (other than my version) is bunny's guess of a mermaid.

so are you on the edge of your seats wondering what i see??? here goes no more waiting...

a scotty dog!! can you see it now? she has had this mark since birth and from the word go we have thought it looked like a scotty dog. the more she goes in the sun the darker the mark gets. i can just imagine in her teenage years how much she is going to hate it. lucky she has such gorgeous eyes that you dont even notice it. ok ladies off to create something else.

oh by the way, i didnt draw on her face... that is a photo of a photo that i drew on so you could see what i see.
